Summary:“This is a very dangerous secret to know,” All Might warns them. “It’s not something to be treated lightly. It’s better to know all of it than to just guess pieces.”“What, exactly, is the secret, sensei?” Asui asks, ever the brave one.“One for All.”It takes one small accident—leaving too much information out with a class of curious students. It was supposed to be a normal weekend, but weekends are never normal when you're a hero in training.
Class 1-A just happens to stumble upon the biggest kept secret in the last 200 years.also known as: Class 1-A finds out about One for All. It starts out as harmless curiosity.“Midoriya left for the weekend, right?” Kirishima asks as he enters the common room of the dorms, holding a notebook in his hands. The rest of class 1-A is gathered in the common room for the evening, eagerly awaiting for Sato to finish cooking dinner (and, hopefully, dessert as well). It's a mixture of chatter, games and homework much like every other Friday night. It atmosphere is kind and warm; reminiscent of most of their home lives. It helps alleviate some of the homesickness that came with not seeing their families every day.Uraraka waves him over into the common room and Ashido gives him a thumbs up.
The rest of the class is too focused on the game to give him any sort of greeting.“He got permission from the school,” Uraraka tells him brightly, “It’s his mom’s birthday so he wanted to celebrate with her!”“Why do you ask?” Sero looks at him, suspicious, over his hidden deck of cards.Kirishima falls on the couch, propping his feet up on Bakugo (much to Bakugo’s displeasure) and throws the notebook on the table. The rest of the class look at it, curious, except for Bakugo who rolls his eyes and goes back to his phone.
“He left his notebook here.”“He loves that thing,” Ashido says and takes the notebook, tracing the cover. It's old and torn, but obviously well loved. HERO JOURNAL 14 is written on the cover along with some water damage and smudge marks. It's thick—thicker than a notebook that size should be. It’s obvious that Midoriya has added things to it, with sticky notes and stray pieces of paper jutting out from the sides. “We better take care of it for him until he gets back.”Uraraka plucks the journal out of Ashido’s hands. She traces the letters on the front.
“I wonder what it’s about? He always writes in this thing, but never tells us.”Kirishima lightly kicks Bakugo’s arm, “Hey, dude, you know what he writes in these things?”'Fuck off,' Bakugo snarls and shoves Kirishima’s feet off of him. Then, as if he can't help himself, “It’s fucking boring. He’s a goddamn nerd. Writes shit about heroes and quirks. Strengths, weaknesses.
Whatever the fuck he knows about.”That easily catches the rest of the classes’ attention. If anything, Midoriya is known for his ability to analyze during battle.
His fast thinking and general intelligence has saved him more than once during an exam. Putting that intelligence and skill in practice-for heroes, villains and whatever else might be in that notebook-gets the class buzzing in excitement that much more.“That’s so cool!” Hagakure says and snatches the poor book from Uraraka. She flips it over and counts the number of pages, “I wonder if he’s done us?”The rest of the class crowds around excitedly, wanting to see if Midoriya had written anything about them. Bakugo scoffs and the class turns to look at him. When seeing that he gathered attention, he offered them a grimace and turned his head away. He has like sixteen of those.
You’re not gonna—”“I found me!” says Hagakure happily. Bakugo practically spits in anger.Kaminari tries to steal the book, but Hakagure holds it up over his head. Sero lunges and manages to rip the book out of Hagakure’s hands, laughing. Eventually, it turns into an all-out brawl to see who can read their own page first. Even those that aren't actively involved in the book stealing are watching on with smiles.“Wait, I want to see!”“What’d he write?!”“Let me see my page!”“Give it to me!”“What other heroes has he done? That’s more pages than just this class.”“That motherfucker better not have written a goddamn bad thing about me or I’ll fucking kill him!”“It’s my turn to look at the book!”“I haven’t read anything yet!
Stop!”It ends when Iida gets hold on the book, holds it over their heads and looks down at them all with a fierce and disapproving scowl. “This is an obvious breach of privacy. Midoriya accidentally left this book here, he had no intention for us to read it. If you truly want to know what’s inside, then you can wait for him to come back tomorrow.”“Oh come on!” Kaminari complains, “It’s just analyzing and shit!
That shouldn’t be a breach of privacy! It’s not like you write personal secrets in a hero notebook or something, jeez.”“We just want to see if he has any ideas for our quirks. What we could work on,” Ojiro says.“Midoriya is a great analyzer and planner,” Momo voices her own reason. “He showed that at USJ and again during Kamino.
We could learn from what he has to say.”“Iida, you, of all people should know that Midoriya would never tell us face to face—he’d be too embarrassed. He’s too nice to tell us our weaknesses and what we could work on,” Jiro says.“There’s a chance he could’ve written about your brother,” Asui says. Iida hesitates. He, too, wants to learn what he can improve upon and knows that Midoriya would be observant enough to notice. Plus, if his brother is truly written in the book he could learn from that as well.Iida clutches the book in his hands tightly, his entire body tense before he sighs and opens the first page of the book.
This is to improve ourselves as heroes—if Midoriya has any personal secrets written in there, then we stop reading. Deal?”“Deal!” The rest of the class responds in agreement.“Read it in order,” Aoyama suggests.Kaminari shoots him finger guns.
“That’s a good idea, then we won’t fight over who reads who’s first.”“We’re reading them out loud?” Todoroki asks.“I think it would be beneficial for us to learn more about each other, as a class,” Iida says. “That way we can improve together. If anyone does not want theirs read out loud, speak up now.”No one speaks up.“Alright,” Iida adjusts his glasses and the class scurries to the floor, forming a circle. Most are eagerly leaning forwards, excited.
Others are nervous. Bakugo is spitting and snarling, but is pulled into the circle by Kirishima anyways.“The first person in this book is.” Iida pauses, squinting, before leaning back and sighing. “Endeavor.”'Shouldn't he have already done Endeavor? He's been a hero for a really long time.' Kirishima asks and no one notices the way that Todoroki tenses up, clanging his hands into fists.' It says Endeavor 2.0,' Iida says. 'So maybe this is an updated version?
'Well, ready what is says!' Kaminari says, encouraging.Iida turns the book on it's side, then upside-down.
He takes off his glasses and rubs them before squinting at the book. 'Its just a sticky note with a sad face.' Iida shows them the book and sure enough, the only thing written on those two pages is a large, red sticky note with a crudely drawn sad smiley face on it. Todoroki has to cover his mouth so he doesn't laugh to hard.
His classmates just look at it, confused.' I thought this book was for analyzing heroes?' Sero says, looking at Bakugo. Bakugo flips him off.' I think that's a great analysis,' Todoroki says.Iiida flips the page. 'The next one is Bakugo.'
“That mothe rfucker—”“What does it say, Iida?” Kirishima crowds eagerly. Iida places the book down so everyone can see the drawings on the left side and the hastily essay of words written on the right. It's a dark contrast to the simple sticky note from the page before. There's easily an entire essay worth of information, just on Bakugo. Five or six sticky notes were plastered on the side, all color-coded with interesting facts on them. The drawings were beautifully done.
Both full bodies of Bakugo, one with his costume and one without. The drawings were almost lifelike and the design stunning as if Midoriya spent hours upon hours making sure he got all the details right.“He can draw!” Ashido exclaims as the rest of the class gathers closer to read.Name: Bakugo Katsuki (Kacchan)Hero Name:????Quirk: ExplosionKacchan has always been a violent person. He’s loud crude, and arrogant and has been since his quirk first manifested. He has calmed down since middle school—(a sticky note is place there that says and even more since Kamino Ward)—despite this, he’s an incredibly good fighter. He values hard work and fair play (see: the first Sports Festival Todoroki vs. His personality reflects his fighting style; loud and destructive. He assaults opponents with little regard for objects around him.
With a quirk like explosion, that’s not surprising. Despite this, he’s a very intelligent and adaptable fighter.
He holds some of the highest grades in the class and does well at strategizing. While Kacchan is cold to his allies, he’s even more brutal to his enemies. He knows who his enemies are. While some people say he acts like a villain, I disagree. Kacchan has always wanted to be a hero and his anger drives him towards his goal. His weaknesses are obvious to most people. He’s brash and angry and has little regard for quirk usage laws. This has caused him to fall behind the class and was possibly a reason that he failed his provisional hero license exam.
Kacchan loves to win. He can’t stand losing—losing makes him even more dangerous. This obsession with winning holds him back.
Other weaknesses include pride and not being able to work in a team. His quirk is powerful. He’s one of the strongest people in our class and he knows it. His quirk allows him to secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat from his palms and detonate it at will to create explosions. The more Katsuki sweats, the stronger his explosions become. His most powerful explosion so far (without the need of the Grenadier Bracers) was used to completely destroy Uravity’s meteor shower during the Sports Festival. Non-enhanced explosions of similar strength were used against All Might during the practical exam.
These explosions, especially when used repeatedly in rapid succession, were actually shown to have a negative impact on Kacchan's arms. Another drawback of Kacchan's Quirk is that he is that he can’t use his quirk when flammable gas is present.
His quirk relies on sweat from his palms, so if he doesn’t sweat, he can’t use his quirk. Colder climates would be a hinderance to him.(a sticky note with a doodle showing Bakugo in his costume except in a long sleeve, black sweatshirt and gloves with the words scribbled possible winter outfit?)Along with his quirk, he has enhanced strength and keen intellect.List of current moves: Blast Rush Turbo, Stun Grenade, Howitzer Impact and AP Shot.By the time the rest of the students have finished reading, they all sat in shock.
They expected a degree of thoroughness (especially for quirks), but they didn’t expect a character analyzation as well. Nothing that Midoriya wrote down is wrong and perhaps that made it all the more surprising. Bakugo starts spitting curses, going to burn the book but Kirishima holds him back.Sato whistles. “He knows what he’s talking about, doesn’t he?”“ FUCK this!” Bakugo snarls and storms to the other side of the common room. The class watches him go but but does nothing to stop him. Bakugo is just like that—sometimes it's better to let him blow off steam than it is to figure out why he's angry int he first place.
They crowd around Iida once more, even more excited than when they first opened the book. They turn the page and are met with drawings of Uraraka. Like Bakugo’s page, there are two full body drawings of her; one in costume and one without.Name: Ochaco UrarakaHero Name: UravityQuirk: Zero Gravity.Midoriya writes about how she’s good at reading people, loves her friends, has a lot of personality. She’s good with teamwork and has even better empathy for others.
She’s determined and focuses and can be intimidating when the situation calls for it.He talks about her quirk, about how her limit is about three tons (or herself). He mentions that she’s been improving with training, meaning that her limits will improve as she continues through the course. He lists some weaknesses of her abilities and well as how she could use them in both close combat and long range combat.“Wow!” Uraraka says and picks up the notebook, tracing the drawing with her fingers.
“Deku is really good at this, isn’t he?”“If he didn’t have a strength enhancing quirk, then I would be sure that he had an intelligence one,” Sero agrees. It continues like that for the next six pages—Iida, Aoyama, Kirishima, Shoji, Hagakure and Sero. All the pages were just as detailed and meticulously drawn as the pages on Uraraka and Bakugo. It's impressive, really.
There's no doubt that the notebook took a lot of time and effort on Midoriya’s part, yet he still kept up with all of it. The respect they had for their classmate is steadily increasing as they continue to read.“Let’s see,” Iida says as he flips the notebook. “The next one is on.”Iida immediately pauses and the rest of the class stares at him in confusion. He doesn’t move, doesn’t speak.
Just stares at the two pages in obvious confusion.“Dude, what’s up? Who’s the next person?”“Yeah, what gives!?”“Iida?
Are you okay?”'Is it on Endeavor again?' “That next one,” Iida says and takes a breath. “is on All Might.”No one notices that Bakugo tense at the name, turning to stare at the hero notebook from his seat a couple feet away.
Excited chatter fills the circled group and the class shoves each other, grinning.“I wonder what Deku has to say about All Might?” Uraraka wonders.“They seem pretty close, don’t they?” Momo says and Tokoyami nods.Asui is the one who notices something is wrong. “Iida, are you going to read it?”“I can’t,” Iida says and places the book in his lap. “It’s in English.”The class stares at the book. It’s obviously All Might’s page—there’s two drawing but instead of in costume and out of costume, one drawing is of All Might’s powered up phase before he retired and the other is of his current skeleton-like form. So far, all of the pages before had been in their native language. Even the sticky notes had no indication of anything other than Japanese.
Yet, when Iida shows them the essay page, they could only see English. Why would only that page be in a difference language?“See if the next page is the same,” Todoroki suggests.Iiida turns the next page before shaking his head. “The next page is Tokoyami. It’s the same as the others.”“That’sweird,” Ojiro says, for lack of a better term. “Is anyone here fluent in English and can translate?”There’s a chorus of no’s until Sato raises his hand. “My grandparents are from the United Kingdom. I can speak and read English.”Iida passes the book to Sato, who starts to translate.Name: All MightQuirk: One For All“—Wait, that’s the name of All Might’s quirk?!” Kirishima interrupts.“How does Midoriya know that?” Tokoyami wonders.“Are we sure that’s even his name?
All Might hasn’t revealed the name of his quirk to the public. Midoriya could just be using it for lack of a real name,” says Hagakure.“But when he didn’t know Bakugo’s hero name, he put question marks,” Ashido argues.
“So why wouldn’t he do that here?”They continue to argue and theorize to themselves, not noticing how Bakugo sucks in a breath and stands up from his spot on the couch and slowly marches over. While no one is paying attention, Bakugo snatches the journal from Sato’s hands.
Sero protests, trying to take it back but Bakugo is out of his reach before he can even turn.“Bakugo, dude, what gives?” Kirishima asks and raises an eyebrow.“I’m burning this book,” Bakugo snarls and just as he’s about to light the book on fire, Sero tackles him to the ground and the book falls out of his hand and onto the floor.“Just ‘cause you’re mad that Midoriya knows you doesn’t mean you get to burn his book!” Sero snaps and struggles with Bakugo. Iida tries to separate them, but both are too busy rolling around on the floor to take notice of him.“ FUCK YOU!” Bakugo spits in his face and kicks Sero off of him. He flips to his feet and turns to where to book is only for Uraraka to snatch it off the floor and hold in to her chest protectively. Bakugo scowls, “Give me the book, Round Face. It isn’t for you.”Kirishima pats him on the back and gives him a small smile.
“We’ll read your page again later, Bakugo. We want to get through the rest before midnight.”“Y-you—!” Bakuogo snarls before taking a deep breath and throwing his arms in the air. Fucking fine!”He storms off before anyone else can get another word in. Bakugo is known for his hot temper, but that has been rough, even for him. Something about it makes Kirishima frown.“Jeez,” Sero says, picking himself off the ground. “I know he hates Midoriya, but that’s too far.”“Let him be,” Ashido says.
“He needs to cool off for a while.”Uraraka hands the book back to Sato with a small smile. Sorry, I was trying to save it.”“It’s fine, glad you got to it before Bakugo did.” Sato says and turns back to All Might’s page.Incredibly powerful. Strength enchancement.Duration: Can only use his quirk for 3 hours 1.5 hours (USJ)There’s a sticky note placed right next to it (covered in tear stains) that says It’s all gone. The class is quiet at that—they knew that All Might has been having trouble with his quirk.
They didn’t know that he could no longer use it.They definitely didn’t know how Midoriya knew how long All Might could use it.All Might’s page did not have the paragraph form that most of the others did. Instead, it's covered in sticky notes of all different colors and shapes. Things like how did he do it? and why can’t I? were scribbled on two blue ones to the side. A newspaper clipping about a fight All Might had six years ago is taped in the center. Another sticky note read Injury: All For One five years ago. In the corner, covered up by another sticky note is one that reads Tomura Shigaraki is Nana Shimura (seventh user)’s grandson. Gran Torino knows. One in the center reads Tomura Shigaraki is All For One’s successor.
In smaller font on the same sticky note; It’s up to me.The final sticky note, written in large block letters and the top of the left page simply says YOU’RE NEXT.The students sit in silence, wondering and waiting. Kirishima and Momo share a glance. They were there, watching the livestream with Midoriya when All Might said those words. They saw Midoriya crying and while that isn’t surprising by itself, looking back at it, his tears weren’t tears of relief like the rest of the crowd. He hadn't been happy.Midoriya had been scared. You’re next, All Might had said. Perhaps it isnn’t just for future villains like everyone thought?“Sato,” Aoyama says. “Are you sure you translated that correctly?”“I’m sure,” Sato says.“That wasweird.” Todoroki mutters under his breath.“Did that make sense to anyone else?” Hagakure says and breathes a sigh of relief when everyone else shakes their head.“Why would Midoriya know about the hand dude?” Sero says.
“Who’s Nana Shimura?”“He called her the seventh user,” Iida responds.“The seventh user of what, exactly?” Sero says back.Kirishima fiddles with his hands as the class lapses into silence. He clears his throat and the others turn to look at him. He keeps his gaze firmly in his lap and continues to fiddle with his hands. “You guys remember Kamino Ward?”“How could we forget?” Asui mutters and Kirishima winces.“There was a man there. The one that All Might fought. All Might called him All for One and he called All Might One For All.”Momo eyes widen and she nods.
“I remember that.”“Does anyone else think that those names are too similar to be a coincidence?” Uraraka says and the rest of the class simply stares at her.“What are you implying?” Ojiro says.“I don’t know,” Uraraka responds, looking down. Think about it.”The silence is back again, heavier than before. Ashido bites her lip before giving everyone a bright smile. “We can ask All Might on Monday, right?
He can probably give us some answers then. I’m sure it’s nothing bad.”Uraraka sighs and relaxes again. “You’re right. This is All Might we’re talking about.”“You said the next page is me, correct?” Tokoyami says and Iida nods. “Then I would like to read it.”The tense atmosphere eventually fades away and the excitement easily comes back. It's true—they’d only gone through half of the book.
There were other students that wanted to read about their own quirks.By the time the last member of the class reads their page, along with a few other Pro Heroes such as Mt. Lady and Native, All Might’s page is long forgotten.
They laugh and chatter happily. Midoriya is did a very thorough analysis on all of them and know that they know what to work on and how to work on it.“Wowww, we really need to remember to thank Midoriya for his journals. These things are really helpful!” Ashido says and laughs.“He really nailed you Todoroki,” Kaminari says and bumps his shoulder. Todoroki simply stares at him. “I would’ve though you’re the hardest to analyze out of all of us but Midoriya really knows you well!”Todoroki doesn’t respond, thankful that Midoriya didn’t put any of the things that he told him at during the Sports Festival in that book.
That would’ve been bad. He's even more thankful for the Endeavor page—glad to see his friend's sense of humor and glad that he didn't put anything about Endeavor.“Shoji, he had some really cool ideas for your arms!” Uraraka says as Shoji nods in agreement.“Hey, there’s one more page in here!” Kaminari says as he opens the book. The chatter dies and they turn to look at the book and Kaminari. “OnMidoriya?”“He wrote about himself?” Iida questions.“Well, what does it say?!” Uraraka says and bounces happily back to her seat on the floor. Everyone else soon joins her, curious as to what Midoriya has to say about himself and his own quirk. While he’d been getting better about not breaking his bones, it’s still a hot topic for discussion during any class period. Midoriya himself would usually shrug it off and say that he just couldn’t control his quirk.
Yet, why would someone who spends so much time analyzing other people’s quirks not have any idea how to control their own?“It’s in English again,” Kaminari frowns.“Do we read it?” Momo asks.Kaminari bit his lip. “We’ve read all the others.”Momo looks hesitant, “But the All Might one.”Uraraka forces a grin. “I’m sure it’s nothing bad! Deku mutters a lot about his power anyways, so surely we’re heard it before?”“He does mutter a lot about his quirk,” Todoroki says.“You’re right,” Hagakure agrees. “It can’t be anything we haven’t heard before.”There’s only a single drawing on Midoriya’s page—something that looks like his old hero costume. The hood is up, covering his face and the overall design is different from the final product. It also looked old, the pencil marks fading and smudged.
Like All Might’s page, there is no big paragraph of quirk analysis. Just scattered sticky notes with little messages on them.Sato peeled them off slowly and starts to read:Name: Midoriya IzukuQuirk: One for All“Wait a second.” Jiro says.“No way,” Kirishima breathes.Asui shushes them and nods at Sato to continue.
He does, much more hesitantly. There’s a feeling in his stomach that says he should stop where he’s at, but with the expecting faces of the rest of the class, he can’t stop now.Gran Torino says All Might was a natural so why am I not?Use legs, can’t keep breaking my arms. Shoot style—need to get used to using my legs more.Current percentage is fifteen.
All Might could hold one hundred for extended periods of time. All Might can change the weather—need to try that when I get above thirty.Sometimes I can see the other users—All Might says he doesn’t know why. Weird dreams. I saw the first One for All. I saw All for One, too.
Mental connection, maybe? It accumulates power when it’s passed down. Nine users, nine times the power.Sato snaps the book shut before he can read anymore.Love child might not be so far off, Todoroki thinks, but doesn’t say anything out loud. The class is quiet for a mere moment before everything explodes. Students jump to their feet, shocked and confused because what does it mean, what is Midoriya saying—“What the fuck, what the fuck—”“Nine users?! What is he saying?”“Is Midoriya really related to All Might?!”“Oh mygod—”“Listen, maybe this is just a really elaborate joke! Midoriya knew we were gonna read his book and he just—”“Why would Midoriya do that?!”“That’s not like him at all!”“Then what do you suggest that is, huh?!”They had noticed—it's hard not to.
At the same time, Japanese forces attacked multiple targets in Asia, trying to secure a new empire before the USA would be able to strike back. After two more years of heavy fighting, the Red Army started to push the Germans back to Berlin. After a number of amphibious assaults in North Africa and Italy, the western allies landed in Normandy on June 6th, 1944 and started their advance on Berlin too.In the Pacific, on December 7th, 1941, the Japanese Navy launched an attack on Pearl Harbor with the goal of crippling the American fleet at anchor there. Navy battleships at Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941Their idea was to secure such a strong position that the Americans would have no other option than to negotiate peace. In June 1941 Germany attacked the Soviet union which was on the brink of defeat when winter set in saving them for the time being. Britain was next on the list of AdolfHitler but then the fortunes of war turned against the Nazis for the first time.
Especially for the first few weeks when Midoriya kept screaming Smash! just like All Might did. His moves, his costume, his power. Everything he did is eerily similar to All Might. It would have been easier to write the book off as a joke.
It would’ve been easier to pretend that Midoriya is making things up.However, none of them could deny that some things just didn’t add up.“I told you,” a voice says and the classes pauses in their panic only to see Bakugo standing on the doorway, leaning again the frame. His eyes are narrowed and he’s angry, sure, but there’s something else that they can't quite place.
“That book wasn’t for you.”Bakugo saunters forward, snatches the book out of Sato’s hands and leaves the room with a “go get some fucking sleep, you pieces of shit.”No one sleeps that night. The class doesn’t want to confront Midoriya about it but Bakugo does anyways. The next day, when Midoriya walks in the dorm with a smile and a wave, Bakugo is the first to greet him with a snarl and shoves the book in his chest.Midoriya looks down at the book before his eyes lit up.
“Thank you, Kacchan! I’ve been looking for this everywhere.
I could’ve sworn—”“They found out,” Bakugo says simply.Midoriya stops, eyes wide. “They found out aboutwhat, exactly?”“They found out about One For All.”Midoriya drops the book in shock. It started out as harmless curiosity. It leads with the entire class of 1-A in an empty classroom, facing Midoriya and All Might. Midoriya hasn’t looked them in the eyes since Saturday afternoon. They can hear All Might reassuring him that it’s not your fault and you didn’t mean to leave it but none of the class could say they were surprised when Midoriya destroys the book.It started out as harmless curiosity. It doesn’t stop the guilt.“This is a very dangerous secret to know,” All Might warns them. “It’s not something to be treated lightly. It’s better to know all of it than to just guess pieces.”His words are just as powerful as they were before Kamino Ward—his form might look weak and skeletal, but the class knew that All Might is powerful in his own way. It doesn't stop them from thinking about that hazily scribbled line in a notebook that their class wrote and suddenly things start to make sense. It's all gone.“What, exactly, is the secret, sensei?” Asui asks, ever the brave one.“One for All.”There’s a long, uncomfortable silence that stretches around the room. All Might stares them all in the eye before beginning, “Long ago, a man that could steal quirks and give them away caused havoc.
That man is All For One. You all remember him, yes?”The class chimes in with agreement—it's hard to forget the man without a face with multiple quirks that destroyed Kamino Ward and cost thousands of lives.“That man had a little brother. This brother was thought to be quirkless, but had an undiscovered quirk—the ability to transfer his quirk to others. At the time, being quirkless wasn’t uncommon but All for One wanted his brother to have power. Power that his brother did not want. All for One forced a quirk on his brother—a quirk that stockpiles power. One for All is the combination of those two quirks.
With this new power, the brother tried to defeat All for One, but was unable to. Without anything left, he transferred his power to another user in hopes that he could cultivate the power and defeat All for One.”“But All for One has been defeated, right?!” Kirishima exclaims suddenly. At Kamino Ward! You defeated him!”“I defeated All for One. I did not destroy his power,” All Might says simply. Midoriya seems to nervously fidget in his seat.Tomura Shigaraki is All For One’s successor.“One for All was created to destroy All for One,” Todoroki breathes.“Exactly,” All Might close his eyes. “There have been nine users currently.”Nine users, nine times the power.“Midoriya is the ninth userisn’t he?” Uraraka asks quietly, looking at her lap.Midoriya glances up at her, hesitant before closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.
“I am.”“What was you quirk before One for All, then?” Aoyama asks.Midoriya bites his lip, eyes finding the floor once again. He fidgets with his hands and doesn't meet their eyes.
“I’m quirkless.”Perhaps Midoriya expects outcry, denial, or rage. Perhaps he expects isolation or screaming or yelling. Perhaps he expects his friends to say that’s not fair! Or I want that power! or, worst of all, you don’t deserve a power like that.He doesn’t expect support.“That’s sick, dude,” Kaminari says, giving him a thumbs up. 'Must've been hard.' “Modoriya really embodies what a hero should be,” Iida says.
“I couldn’t think of anyone better.”The rest of the class chimes in agreements, except for Bakugo who sits the farthest away with his feet propped up on a desk and simply watches. Midoriya stops, staring before tears pool in his eyes. His friends rush to reassure him and All Might puts a hand on his shoulder as Midoriya waves them off and gives them a big smile. “These are happy tears, don’t worry!”“That’s why you couldn’t control it,” Momo muses to herself and bushes when she realizes she said it out loud.Midoriya scratches the back of his head nervously, smile still on his face. “I still can’t, honestly. Right now I can only use twenty percent of One for All.”“Twenty percent?!” Sero exclaims.
“But you're so strong already!”“It would be exciting to see it at one hundred,” Shoji said as Sato nods in agreement.“I thought the love child theory was better,” Todorkoi says simply.Midoriya huffs but it’s easy to notice that he’s no longer as nervous as he was before. “I told you to drop that!”“You don’t seem surprised about this at all, Bakubro,” Kaminari says. “I thought you’d be pissed or something.”They don’t miss the look Midoriya gives Bakugo or the look he gets in return.Bakugo leans back further in his chair and places his hands above his head. Fucking Deku can’t keep a secret to save his life.
It was fucking obvious.”“You knew?!”“Why the fuck did you think I tried to stop you extras from reading about it?!” Bakugo snaps back.“Young Bakugo found out by accident—” All Might explains.“Accident, huh?” Bakugo mutters under his breath.“—Him and Midoriya worked it out themselves, it seems.”They laugh and joke for the next half an hour, All Might simply watching them interact. Even though it’s not a secret he wanted out, he can trust his students with both Young Midoriya and One for All. It’s good for Young Midoriya to have a support group like this. One where he could have friends to rely on and talk to about his problems. All Might fought the battle alone—he's glad his successor doesn't have to feel that grief.Maybe it would even help him move forward and become even stronger. The chatter dies off, leaving a calm silence in the room. All Might is about to dismiss them back to their dorms when Kirishima speaks up.“That’sthat’s a lot of pressure on your shoulders, man,” he says softly.Midoriya looks up, surprised, before he gives a small smile. “I knew that when I took One for All.
It’sit’s not a game for me. It never has been. I have to live up to these expectations in order to protect everyone.”“You don’t have to do it alone.”Midoriya smiles, “Thank you.”It started out as harmless curiosity. It ended with a group of friends becoming stronger, together.
